Last Friday, 6 June, the Anthony Powell Society celebrated no fewer than four anniversaries at a lunch at the National Liberal Club. The lunch was attended by a mix of Anthony Powell Society members, the Powell and Pakenham families, and Powell's friends. Amongst the guests were Lady Antonia Fraser, Dame Jilly Cooper, Ferdinand Mount, Melvyn Bragg and Powell's biographer Hilary Spurling.
