Membership is open to all, and (although based in the UK) the Society has members spread across the globe.

Note c. Available to bona fide full-time students. Please attach or email a copy of your current student card with your subscription.

We are happy to arrange gift subscriptions. Please indicate the donor’s and recipient’s details, and we will do the rest.

As a member of the Anthony Powell Society you will receive:
- Welcome pack, which includes one or two recent issues of Newsletter and a copy of Dance Music
- Quarterly issues of Newsletter
- Issues of our occasional journal Secret Harmonies

- Discounts on tickets for the Society’s Annual Lecture & other Events
- Discounts on Society Publications & Merchandise (including the ongoing publication of Powell’s previously uncollected journalism, and other material, much of which Powell had himself planned)

Important Notes:
- Gift Aid Declaration. If you are a UK resident and choose an option with Gift Aid, the following declaration will apply:
I want to Gift Aid my donations to the Anthony Powell Society, both current and in the future.
I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in a tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
Please notify the Society if you want to cancel this declaration; change your name or home address; or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains. - Subscriptions are renewable on the anniversary of joining.
- Payment. The Society can accept the following methods of payment:
- PayPal, Visa or Mastercard via the website.
- Direct PayPal money transfer to shop@anthonypowell.org or via PayPal.Me.
- Visa or Mastercard by post, by phone or in person. (Please do not send your credit card details by email; this will compromise the security of your card. )
- Cheques in UK sterling, drawn on a UK bank, and payable to “Anthony Powell Society”. (Due to high bank charges we cannot accept cheques in non-UK currency, or drawn on or by a non-UK bank.)
- Cash in person. We will also accept US Dollar and Euro notes for amounts equivalent to £50 or more. (Please do not send cash by post as this is not secure.)
- Bankers Standing Order is also available to UK members, and is encouraged. You can download a blank mandate form; or set up the mandate via your online banking and email membership@anthonypowell.org to inform us.
