Blue Plaque Unveiling

Monday 25th September 2023

The Society was delighted on 16 September 2023 to have Ferdinand Mount unveil a blue plaque to Anthony Powell at 1 Chester Gate, London, NW1.

This house is where Anthony and Lady Violet Powell lived between 1937 and 1952 (excepting during WWII) and where Powell wrote the opening volume of his magnum opus, A Dance to the Music of Time.
